Wilmer Valderrama would happily squeeze in a return trip to Point Place. [pmc_inline_gallery]
In a new interview with TV Insider, the NCIS star, who is also readying a Zorro reboot for ABC, indicates that, time permitting, he would reprise Fez on Netflix‘s That ’90s Show.
“I’m a little busy right now, but I support them so much,” the That ’70s Show vet tells TV Insider. “I’m rooting for them. I wish them nothing but the best. And if the timing is right, I’d never say no.”
Valderrama played Fez — short for Foreign Exchange Student — for the entirety of That ’70s Show‘s eight-season run on Fox, from 1998 to 2006. He previously reunited with costars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson on another Netflix sitcom, The Ranch, on which he recurred in Seasons 1 and 2 as ranch hand Umberto.
Cameras officially began rolling on the highly anticipated ’70s sequel series on Feb. 11. Leaked photos revealed returning series regulars Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp (aka Red and Kitty) mid-conversation at the Formans’ kitchen table, which you can see here.
That ’90s Show picks up 15 years after the original series finale. The year is 1995, and Eric and Donna’s daughter Leia (played by Shut Eye‘s Callie Haverda) is “visiting her grandparents for the summer, where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red,” according to the official logline.
As previously reported, fellow OGs Topher Grace (Eric), Laura Prepon (Donna), Mila Kunis (Jackie) and Ashton Kutcher (Kelso) are expected to recur on the 10-episode offshoot — but when asked about a potential return on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Grace answered, “It’s all top-secret.”
A premiere date has not yet been announced.
Good. Make it happen.
His accent would be gone by then so he’d be different.
It’d be better if it wasn’t a new generation. I’m sick & tired of the nex-gen. This is how good shows are ruined.
I want only the original cast with an occasional cameo of their brats.
Nothing this show or any other reboot and continuation does ruins the original shows.
“Degrassi: The Next Generation” called and told me you were wrong
That’s a poor comparison, IMO. Of TNG’s large ensemble cast of rotating main characters, Emma and step-dad Snake are the only two I can think of with established intentional ties to the originating show. In comparison, the That 70’s Show reboot sounds laser-focused in on the parents and kid of That 70’s Show’s single lead character (Eric). Two very different shows and two very different scenarios.
Of course the loser with no job will come back, oh wow I am so impressed. The original was a sad sack of crap anyway, let it die!
Um he has a job. Don’t be so angry.
lol he leads the most-watched show on TV and runs his own production company.

a dream come true, ha! Thanks Matt 😄
I didn’t realize Fez was played by Gary Cole. Huh. (Seriously, he’s fourth billed, not a lead.)
Maybe we’ll even find out his real name and what country he’s from.
I’m skeptical. Maybe the horrendous Girl Meets World is still too fresh in mind, but it’s hard to recapture (nostalgic) magic while making a show relevant to newer audiences. That they’re already bringing in as many original cast members as possible might be a clue that the show can’t stand on its own.
Fez was downright a sexual pig on the 70’s show. The way he treated girls and spoke about and to them constantly calling them where’s ect. If you treated a lady that way in the 70’s, you would stay a virgin forever and most likely get your ass whooped. Other things he did were absolutely creepy was this the fault of the writer? And what was with the gay baby talk he had morphed into in that series? Again, was this the writer’s idea? Either way it wasn’t funny nor did his part have any similarities to the 70’s era.
You dirty where! ;-)
Eric and Donna never had a daughter. Kelso and Brooke did, her named was Betsy. Why don’t they focus on that? Instead of Leia? How about Midge’s lost daughter?
So, in the intervening 15 years since the end of the original show and the start of the new one, they couldn’t have had any kids?
Also, why would Kelso’s kid stay with Red and Kitty for a whole summer?
I am surprised they would consider it since the entire main cast has done well since the show ended except Danny Masterson
