🔥 The Cybersecurity Community

About us

infosec.live is a cyber security community sharing resources, knowledge and best practises, along with mentorship opportunities, and a leadership focused YouTube channel with over 8k subscribers since launch in 2022. Since our founder launched the community in June 2021 we have grown to over 6000 cyber professionals and are about to launch our fully funded scholarship program for our community members. In February last year we launched a series of in person leadership events off the back of the success of our YouTube channel in the U.K. and U.S. in Cambridge, Tampa, San Francisco, Manchester and London in the U.K. The CISO Experience Series provides an invaluable opportunity for CISO's and Business leaders to engage with their peers and thought leaders as they prepare for the next wave of security challenges. It is a unique forum for CISO's and Board Members to learn from one another, share best practices, and discuss emerging trends in the industry. Through networking, interactive discussions, and thought-provoking content, Leadership will gain the insights and tools they need to stay ahead of the curve and protect their organizations. With 24 events planned in 2024, it’s going to be a great year! Reach out to us on the site below to discover more about our sponsorship opportunities. https://infoseclive.events/

Join our founder Simon Linstead and guest Adam Dennis for “Building Cyber Talent” Adam is the founder of AntiguaRecon, it was created to give smart, young Antiguans opportunities in cybersecurity, a field where they could work from Antigua serving companies regionally and beyond.   More about our guest in his own words: “I’m a misfit. My path to cybersecurity was long and twisted. I used to work in US politics many moons ago.   In the late 90s, I created and managed a non-profit which taught at-risk youth how to program and create webesites.   In the early 2000s, I founded, managed and sold a SaaS company. The sale gave me a bit of freedom which resulted in my family and me moving to Antigua in the West Indies. Through the mid-2000s to late teems, I consulted and managed 6 different software teams (which led my to my first contact with cybersecurity by promoting secure coding best practices with my teams and engaging them in internal team attacks built around OWASP Top 10 exploits. Next, in 2019 I founded another SaaS company where I still work to this day. This same company gave me the freedom to launch AntiguaRecon over two years ago.   Finally, to bring us to the current day, AntiguaRecon is training new ethical hackers AND also providing cybersecurity services in Antigua (with the goal of moving beyond the island by EOY).   AntiguaRecon offers cybersecurity training, darkweb OSINT research, simulated phishing tests, external penetration testing, and external vulnerability assesments... all from the Caribbean Island nation of Antigua and Barbuda.   Essentially, AR offers a combined training and apprenticeship program to build experienced junior ethical hackers. The program is supported by senior cybersecurity experts from the US and UK.  Join us LIVE for the open Q&A #cybersecurity #antigua #leadership #training

Join us tomorrow for the latest LIVE episode with Simon Linstead and Lou Covey where they look at the current news and issues in cyber security. This week they address whether the industry really cares enough about protecting personal identity information.. “Your security is important to us,” is a common phrase on corporate websites and emails, usually after some data breach that affects customers. To prove that statement, corporations invest billions of dollars in the cybersecurity industry. Most market projections say the industry is worth about $180 billion. About 15 percent of that market goes to data security. But all the indications are that we are losing the war in personal identity security That leaves is with the question: Do corporations really care about customer security? Join them LIVE for the open Q&A! #cybersecurity #news #community

Join our founder Simon Linstead and special guest Mark Buckwell for a focus on Architectural Thinking for Secure Design. There has been a recent industry focus on Secure by Design, providing overall principles and guidance, including threat modelling. However, scaling the secure design of complex systems needs repeatable techniques and artifacts for a robust design and clear communication.  In conversation with Mark Buckwell, we will discuss how effective architectural thinking can help security architects with secure systems architecture and design. Mark is an experienced cloud security architect who specializes in architecting security for hybrid cloud solutions that protect critical business workloads. His client experience has been in the development of security strategy, architecture, and design, with a focus on regulated environments.  He led the development of a security architecture method supporting hybrid cloud workloads using zero trust practices and is a joint author for the new O'Reilly book "Security Architecture for Hybrid Cloud" for release in August.  So far, the method has been taught to over 1000 learners, including security professionals and MSc cyber security students at two UK universities. Join us LIVE for the open Q&A (or the replay if you miss it) below  #cybersecurity #leadership #securebydesign
