Today we hosted the #AngelCityEquitySummit! The summit is an annual event dedicated to advancing gender equity and celebrating the power of women in sports. This year, we gathered in Paris with global leaders, Olympians, and industry experts to explore groundbreaking topics, share inspiring stories, and to drive change and action. Here’s a quick recap: 1️⃣ Setting Intentions & Building Connections: We kicked off with a powerful session focused on creating meaningful connections and setting clear intentions for the day. 2️⃣ Trailblazing Together: Our panel, moderated by NBC LA’s Lolita Lopez, explored the journey of founding Angel City FC with co-founders Julie Uhrman, Natalie Portman, and Kara Nortman, and ACFC captain Ali Riley. ACFC Head of Marketing and Community, Catherine Dávila, and ACFC VP of Community Impact, Chris Fajardo, unveiled the Angel City Impact Fund—Angel City’s new nonprofit venture aimed at expanding no-cost soccer access and leadership opportunities for youth in LA. 3️⃣ Diverse Panels & Partners: We hosted dynamic discussions with our partners, including The Grand World, BMO U.S., HubSpot, NYX Professional Makeup, Meta, and Gatorade. Topics ranged from gender-equitable Olympics to empowering female leaders, and advancing women’s sports marketing. Each session offered valuable insights and actionable strategies. 4️⃣ Malala & Khalida: A special session with Malala Yousafzai and Khalida Popal featuring an inspiring Q&A on education, privilege, and empowerment. 5️⃣ Conversation Circles: Attendees engaged in meaningful conversations about leadership styles, iACT and Angel City’s community-led impact, keeping girls in sports, and exploring geo-specific challenges in women’s sports across the globe. 6️⃣ Closing: We concluded with reflections from Julie Uhrman and a group photo, celebrating a day of impactful dialogue and shared vision.
