Helping over 460,000 young people in the UK develop skills for life.
About us
Scouts helps over 460,000 young people in the UK develop the skills they need to succeed in life. Internationally, there are over 30 million young people enjoying the benefits of Scouting. We believe that young people develop most when they are 'learning by doing,' when they are given responsibility, work in teams, take acceptable risks and think for themselves. We also offer adventure to adults, and there is wide variety of roles and opportunities available to those who want to get involved. Our Chief Scout is Bear Grylls: 'Two things matter in life: following your dreams and looking after your friends. This is what I love about Scouting. It’s about doing great things, loving and enjoying the great adventures and helping others to do the same.'

We teamed up with Gas Distribution Networks on some excellent resources to help young people be more gas and carbon monoxide (CO) aware around the home. Read more about the partnership here: https://lnkd.in/eABfY8y2 #SkillsForLife
Young people are one of the most at-risk groups from #carbonmonoxide (CO) poisoning. They also have the biggest potential to become ambassadors for CO safety as they take home #safety messages and increase CO #awareness within their families. Working with The Scouts, we’ve established a programme of ten CO awareness activities across Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer sections, reaching 48,445 young people in SGN regions and almost 179,000 overall across the UK. Activities range from camping recipes with CO safety messaging embedded into the activity through to a roleplay mystery game called ‘The Undetected Danger’.
