🖊 Gordon Rayner writes: Robert Jenrick is straight off the train and a little out of breath as he walks into the bar of Oscar’s Inn, one of his favourite pubs in his Newark, Nottinghamshire, constituency. He is an hour late for the dinner we have arranged, having taken longer than expected to catch the Speaker’s eye in the House of Commons as he waited to debate the King’s Speech. No matter. The retirement of older planes, which emit more #CO2, has also slowed to half the usual rate as supply-chain issues limit new deliveries, while average fuel consumption has increased. 🚀 Disabled #astronaut John McFall has been cleared to go into space after a two-year feasibility study concluded that his prosthetic leg will not stop him carrying out all his duties. The British #paralympian made history by becoming the European #Space Agency’s (ESA) first parastronaut when he was selected in November 2022.
