The ‘Dialogue for Change’ programme, hosted in partnership with Impact, is an 8-week course designed to help participants develop the influencing and communication skills needed to effectively engage colleagues and stakeholders on sustainability challenges. Individuals from a diverse range of companies have taken part in the course, including Diageo, the LEGO Group, ScottishPower, Arm, Mills & Reeve, and HH Global - enabling them to leverage speaking and listening skills in their efforts to implement sustainability initiatives across their organisations. Find out more and register for the programme here: https://lnkd.in/euXcDAUX Programme spaces are limited, and participation is prioritised for UN Global Compact Network UK participants. #sustainability #communicationskills

Recent riots across the country highlight the need to accelerate action towards inclusion and equality. Businesses have a moral and legal duty to ensure that their workplaces provide safe spaces for all employees. Doing so can also maintain high workplace satisfaction, mitigate risk from failing to comply with the 2010 Equality Act, attract and engage the right talent, and boost creativity and innovation, enabling increased profits. In 2020, following the Black Lives Matter protests, the UN Global Compact Network UK hosted a BLM webinar series and published a report outlining seven key challenges faced by businesses and actions they can take to overcome them. REGISTER NOW: BUSINESS ASSOCIATIONS CLIMATE ACTION GUIDE – ONLINE LAUNCH More and more businesses are setting ambitious emissions reduction targets, yet many remain part of associations that are engaging in harmful climate lobbying, exposing them to operational, reputational, and legal risk. Recognising these risks, stakeholders are now calling on companies to ensure that the business associations they are part of operate in alignment with the Paris Agreement goals. For businesses, achieving this alignment is a key opportunity to demonstrate climate leadership and play an active role in creating an enabling policy environment for net zero. Developed in partnership with a range of leading NGOs, our ’Business Associations Climate Action Guide’ provides a step-by-step overview and recommended actions for how companies can assess and engage their business associations to support Paris-aligned policy agendas and, in turn, the delivery of their corporate climate transition plans. 📖 You can read the guide here: https://lnkd.in/ewCvf8e2 To learn more about how your business can use this guide to strengthen its climate policy engagement, tune in to the online launch webinar, taking place on Tuesday 3 September (16:00-17:00 BST). 🎥 You can find out more and register here: https://lnkd.in/gTizHVJD Exponential Roadmap Initiative, #RacetoZero of High-Level Climate Champions, WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, We Mean Business Coalition, Climate Action for Associations.

With one in six species currently at risk of extinction in the UK, businesses are becoming increasingly exposed to systemic risks caused by biodiversity loss. Fortunately, nature-based solutions can help the private sector address these risks. By implementing solutions such as regenerative agriculture and peatland restoration techniques, green infrastructure, marine habitat restoration projects, and sustainable green urban drainage systems – among many others, businesses can help scale NbS across sectors and geographies. Join our upcoming ‘Nature-Based Solutions for Business’ webinar series, kindly supported by One Carbon World, to learn how leading businesses have designed, financed, and implemented NbS in line with internationally recognised NbS standards.
