Child Palliative Care can be one of the most difficult challenges to face as a healthcare professional. That is why World Child Cancer, in cooperation with ICPCN, facilitated the training of 30 healthcare professions at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The training, provided by the sole expert in Child Palliative Care in Ghana, was a resounding success. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication of the health care professionals committed to enhancing the quality of life and dignity for children facing by sharing their skills and knowledge. Together, we make a difference! #ChildPalliativeCare #WorldChildCancer #Ghana

Every child with cancer, wherever they live in the world, should have equal access to the best possible treatment & care
About us
World Child Cancer’s vision is to see a world where every child with cancer has access to the best possible treatment and care. Our mission is to improve cancer diagnosis, treatment and palliative care for children in low and middle income countries, tackling the global inequality in the treatment of childhood cancer. We do this by establishing twinning partnerships linking hospitals in the developing world with hospitals in the developed world to provide a two-way transfer of expertise and skills to create locally appropriate solutions to the problem of childhood cancer in each country. This expertise and knowledge sharing is generously donated for free by our network of dedicated healthcare professionals.

Curing cancer takes a village. World Child Cancer supports cross training for existing healthcare professionals, in both cancer treatment and psychosocial support. Providing paediatric oncology training for nurses ensures that cancer treatment can reach across a country, not just the urban centres. #WorldChildCancer #CloseTheGap #MedicalEquality #NGO #Charity #Bangladesh

Childhood cancer care is expensive. Between transport, taking time off work and the cost of healthcare, families in low- and middle- income countries can struggle to make ends meet. By providing financial and accommodation support, and improving the channels of access, we aim to ease some of the challenges at an incredibly challenging time. #WorldChildCancer #CloseTheGap #MedicalEquality #NGO #Charity #Bangladesh

We were thrilled to welcome the Amgen team to Ghana! Amgen’s ongoing support is helping us transform the lives of children facing cancer around the world, and we couldn't be more grateful. During their visit, they toured our partner hospitals, visited Ghana College of Pharmacists, and met with members of Ghana Health Service and The Ministry of Health. It was wonderful to share the incredible work that their dedicated support has made possible! #Amgen #WorldChildCancer #ClosingTheCancerGap Sean Lybrand Philip Anderson

It is estimated that as little as 12% of expected cases of childhood cancer will receive specialised treatment in Nepal, due to challenges in primary care. In June, we helped provided early warning signs training in Nepal to primary care physicians, nurses, medical officers and support teams; improving knowledge and skills to increase the number of children receiving care as early as possible. For both families and medical professionals, being able to identify early warning signs of childhood cancer results in a faster diagnosis and earlier treatment. According to the WHO, catching cancer early leads to better outcomes for the patient and less aggressive treatments, improving the quality of life for patients during their care.

We want to say a huge thank you and congratulations to one of our team members, Anna Ransome. Anna and her husband Steve completed an 86-mile challenge along Hadrian’s Wall in 30 hours. Together they have fundraised an incredible £500 for World Child Cancer. Thank you for taking on the challenge and raising money to help make a difference in the lives of so many children and their families.
