  • 1. SHL Digital Transformation: Product Innovation

    SHL’s e2e delivery approach was unable to support its new digital transformation strategy. As Head of the Digital PMO, designed and implemented a new product innovation framework based on lean principles.     SHL’s e2e delivery approach was unable to support its new digital transformation strategy. As Head of the Digital PMO, designed and implemented a new product innovation framework based on lean principles. Created a RACI detailing the new model and then translated it into a user-friendly playbook for training and communications; introduced a comprehensive governance model; established consistent and accurate reporting; created and delivered a transition plan; drove adoption of the new framework by championing its principles across SHL and gradually establishing it as the new way of working; created a new set of artifacts and templates for the team to use; and regularly gathered feedback & used insight to drive continuous improvement. The new approach allowed the Digital team to prioritise the roadmap based on value, driving ROI improvements and increasing client product usage by up to 20%.

    SHL’s software delivery capability was not fit for purpose for a global, digitally led organisation. As Head of the Digital PMO, led the introduction of a new model based on Spotify’s scaled agile framework. As Head of the Digital PMO, led the introduction of a new model based on Spotify’s scaled agile framework. Ran stakeholder workshops to elaborate the new squad structure; defined roles and responsibilities; introduced OKRs (objectives and key results) as well as standard agile metrics; introduced a new resource management tool covering nearly 300 people across 3 continents; and coached scrum masters on implementing agile ceremonies and behaviours. The new model drove big efficiency gains (wastage down by up to 50% in some teams), big time to market reductions (from months to weeks) and improved quality and visibility of squad backlogs

    Sky were planning a major restructuring of their Sports product. As Programme Manager, led project for NOW TV & Sky Sports Mobile TV (SSMTV) in UK & ROI.     Sky were planning a major restructuring of their Sports product. As Programme Manager, led project for NOW TV & Sky Sports Mobile TV (SSMTV) in UK & ROI. Defined SSMTV customer model/use cases/test scripts/journeys; managed key partner relationship; managed e2e stream/logo testing; ran web domain/retail impact assessments; and ensured launch readiness of customer comms/service estates. Succeeded in managing last minute proposition changes & ensuring all changes were released on time for the launch.

    NOW TV needed to launch their app on Samsung TVs to increase headroom. As Programme Manager, led project & hand over to BAU. Created/managed progress against aggressive delivery plan; coordinated PR/marketing plans; produced business/use case & test scripts; utilised beta test feedback to improve performance/UX; and created delivery blueprints for future device launches. Succeeded in enabling the app launch on Samsung TVs in time for Christmas with 70k viewers added within 3 months.
