Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher are married after 5-year engagement: Reports

It was a years-long journey to make it down the aisle, but Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher are married!

The couple, who met in 2012 and got engaged in 2018, exchanged vows Tuesday on the Caribbean island of Anguilla, People revealed Friday, alongside photos of the tropical ceremony.

This is the first marriage for Butcher, a 44-year-old Australian actress and model, and the second for Murphy, 63. They share two children, 8-year-old Izzy Oona Murphy and 5-year-old Max Charles Murphy.

USA TODAY has reached out to Murphy's reps for comment.

The "Beverly Hills Cop" star has eight other children: Eric, his son with Paulette McNeely; Christian, his son with Tamara Hood; Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola and Bella, his children with ex-wife Nicole Murphy and Angel, his daughter with former Spice Girl Mel B.

What's next for Eddie Murphy?

After releasing the latest "Beverly Hills Cop" installment earlier this month, Murphy has another possible project in mind.

He was coy initially; when asked if it might be a stand-up show, he elaborated in a recent interview with USA TODAY.

"I have flirted with the idea of a live show for years and years, but when I think about it, I realize it would have to be more than just stand-up," he said. "I've done so much other stuff, I’d have to have music in my show, maybe I'd be telling stories about my career and my life, and I'd have some stand-up in the show. So it’d be more like a Broadway show."

He later added, "But not just doing stand-up and going, 'What is wrong with Joe Biden?' or just talking about the problems of the day. I need a bigger canvas to work with."

As for whether he'd suit up as Axel Foley again, Murphy was optimistic despite Netflix remaining mum on the possibility of another "Beverly Hills Cop" installment.

"They're developing 'Beverly Hills Cop 5' as we speak," he said. "And if the script is right, I'd do it tomorrow."
