Justin Robinson, the son of Hall of Famer David Robinson, will attend Duke next season as a preferred walk-on, according to 247Sports.com.

Justin, a 6-7 power forward from San Antonio Christian, gained early admission to Duke based on his academic credentials. Robinson’s school is off to a 14-4 start this season.

“I’m happy to get early decision from Duke since it is so amazing academically,” Justin told 247Sports via text message. “It’s been a long time dream for me. The opportunity to be a preferred walk-on is exciting and I’m looking forward to being a part of the Duke Basketball tradition.”

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski coached David Robinson with the original Dream Team at the 1992 Olympics and Robinson has been a frequent visitor to camps at Duke, including one Justin attended as a sophomore.

Justin’s older brother, Corey, is a wide receiver at Notre Dame.

To avoid any potential confusion, this is not the same Justin Robinson who signed with Virginia Tech in the early period. That Justin Robinson is a 6-1 point guard from the St. James School in Maryland and is considered among the top players in the state.
