After he broke the record for three-pointers made (seven) at the Nike Hoop Summit last week, Advanced Prep International (Dallas) shooting guard Terrance Ferguson joked with a group of reporters about having to ice his shooting hand after the game because it was still on fire.
Just in case, it would probably be wise for Arizona coach Sean Miller to keep plenty of ice on hand in Tucson; Ferguson announced that he was committing to the Wildcats on Wednesday on Twitter.
Ferguson, who decommitted from Alabama last month, picked Arizona over Kansas, Baylor, Maryland, Texas, Alabama and North Carolina.
Ferguson, who is ranked No. 13 overall in the ESPN 100, has won three gold medals with USA Basketball (16U, 17U and 19U), where he’s compiled a record of 20-0.
His commitment gives the Wildcats their fourth five-star recruit in the 2016 class joining Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) guard Rawle Alkins, St. Francis (Atlanta) point guard Kobi Jordan-Simmons and European forward Lauri Markkanen.
