Danny Clark, a four-star quarterback from Archbishop Hoban in Ohio, committed to Ohio State in December 2013 as a member of the Class of 2017.

The expectation was that Clark would be the lone quarterback in the class, but Ohio State hosted Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) quarterback Tate Martell last week. Martell is ranked as the No. 1 dual threat quarterback in the Class of 2017 by the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Martell has said he is 100 percent committed to Texas A&M but also has plans to take additional visits. Members of the Buckeyes’ recruiting class have been working hard to convince Martell to change his mind.

Clark, ranked as the No. 12 pro style QB by the 247Sports Composite, said the Ohio State coaches told him that they would look at a “couple of guys” in 2017 and 2018, although he remains unfazed.

“Urban Meyer explained it to me. It’s a business, you know what I mean? It’s a business,” Clark told Cleveland.com. “If he feels the need to. They have to be balanced on all points of the game, and I am not worried about competition.

“I honestly don’t care who they bring in, I’m going to win.”
