VIDEO: Emmitt Smith's son, E.J., drags five tacklers in a Texas freshman football game

Breaking news: Emmitt Smith has a son playing high school football.

No, the younger Smith, named E.J., is not yet on his school’s varsity squad. Still, the Jesuit freshman is already turning heads by tapping into some of his NFL Hall of Fame father’s biggest strengths. Like, say, strength.

That’s E.J. Smith in the highlight clip above, and, in particular, at the 0:40 mark, where he catches a short screen pass in the flat and drags not one or two but five would-be DeSoto tacklers for nearly 15 yards. He easily could have stopped after the first five with a first down already, but he kept churning, pushing the ball upfield and pushing his teammates on the sidelines into absolute hysterics.

That bodes well for Jesuit’s future, not to mention E.J.’s. If nothing else, he’s certainly living up to wearing his father’s No. 22.
