VIDEO: With game on line, Va. team takes blocked FG back for game-winning TD

Woodgrove entered the Virginia Class 4A West regional finals undefeated and with a surging reputation as one of the state’s best teams. With the team trailing Dominion 24-23 in their regional final with just seconds remaining, it looked as if that reputation would continue to grow thanks a 42-yard field goal attempt. That’s before Dominion blocked the attempt and brought it back for a game-winning touchdown of its own.

That was the scene behind one of the upsets of the Virginia playoffs thus far, with Dominion’s 30-23 win not only ending Woodgrove’s season, but also avenging a September 24-14 loss for Dominion that was one of only two the Titans suffered in the regular season.

Before the epic blocked field goal, there was Dominion’s own clutch field goal, a 31-yarder from Ramon Blas that set up the 24-23 lead that held until the final play sealed the game for Dominion, which advances to play Salem in the state semifinals.
