NEW YORK — Former “Fall Guy” star Heather Thomas has pinned down her first spec script sale.

Her darkly comic script “School Slut” has been purchased for a low-six figure against mid-six figure sum by Touchstone Pictures. Tom Jacobson will produce, with Scott Nimerfro and Jim Wedaa as exec producers.

The script was brought in by Christy Callahan, a creative exec at the Jacobson Company. It’s the first script sale for the actress, who’s married to high-powered attorney Skip Brittenham.

“I always wanted to explore a couple of things about high school, about how stringent the rules are, Thomas said. “It’s like Nazi Germany, one goof and you’re out.”

“There’s a young girl in a meat packing town in the early 70s, and she’s the town darling,” Thomas said. “Everybody loves her, she wins the beauty contest, she becomes the Meat Princess, which is the prerequisite to becoming the Sausage Queen.” The girl’s plan to move up the meat chain becomes ground chuck, though, when she’s the victim of a false rumor.

“Through all kinds of mishaps she’s labeled this heaving slut and she’s totally ostracized,” said Thomas. “She makes friends with the cootie girl, which every school has one.

“Here, she’s this six-foot tall, 250-pound African-American girl everyone treats horribly and nobody gives a chance. Together, the girls find freedom because they don’t have to follow the rules anymore. And they expose all the other phonies.”

More Thomas scripts

After staying home to raise her two children, Thomas has big plans to sell other scripts she’s written, as well as “Howl,” a TV series for teens she created and will host . Thomas was repped in the script deal by Writers & Artists agent Larry Kennar.

Thomas will return to acting when she stars for director Rico Martinez in the indie film “Candy,” which starts shooting in the fall. A graduate of the UCLA Film School, Thomas is still on its alumni board.
