Comic mystery “Searching for Sonny” is set for a release from digital distributor FilmBuff, with VOD, DVD and Blu-Ray accompanied by limited-engagement screenings around the country.
Red Prods.’ movie, written and helmed by Andrew Disney, stars Jason Dohring (“Veronica Mars”), Minka Kelly (“Friday Night Lights”), Michael Hogan (“Battlestar Galactica”) and Masi Oka (“Hawaii Five-O,” “Heroes”). Storyline centers on a group of friends at a high school reunion who are suspected of murder.
Movie bowed as part of the 2011 Austin Film Festival and has gone on to play the festival circuit and pick up several fest awards.
Producers Red Sanders and Greg Beauchamp, both of Red Prods., along with Briana C. Hill of Pierce Law Group, negotiated the pact with FilmBuff’s Steve Beckman.
The limited theatrical screenings will roll out between now and Sept. 21, with the VOD, DVD and Blu-Ray release set for Aug. 28.
