‘Heroes’ Star Masi Oka In Talks to Front ‘PrankStars’ Game Show

Japan’s Yoshimoto Kogyo and the U.K.’s Zig Zag Productions are to co-produce in Japan “PrankStars,” a new game show format.

The two companies are in discussions with Masi Oka (“Heroes” and “Hawaii-5-0”) to host the show.

A broadcaster has not yet been announced.

The format sees four teams of experts, including comedians, special effects artists and magicians working together to help celebrities and members of the public prank their friends and loved ones. Winners are the teams which get the biggest reaction.

“Yoshimoto’s strength is in our amazing writers who invent the craziest elements for our game and variety shows… ‘PrankStars’ .. has a built in audience across the globe” said Aki Yorihiro, CEO of Yoshimoto subsidiary Yoshimoto Entertainment USA.

Executive producers for Zig Zag Productions are Danny Fenton and Andy Scott.Aki Yorihiro and Patrick Jager will executive produce for Yoshimoto.

The two companies previously coproduced ‘Time Out’ for KTV and slow motion format ‘Split/ Second’ for Nickelodeon.
