Prime Video India’s crime drama “Mirzapur” has set a new benchmark with its third season, becoming the platform’s most-watched show in India during its launch weekend.

The series has also gained significant international traction, trending in the platform’s Top 10 list across more than 85 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia.

Produced by Excel Media and Entertainment, the show began streaming from July 5 and was watched in 98% of India’s post codes during its opening weekend, Prime Video said.

In response to the show’s performance, Prime Video and Excel Media and Entertainment have begun development on a fourth season. While details about the upcoming instalment are under wraps, fans can expect the series to continue its exploration of power dynamics and criminal underworld in the heartland of northern India.
