Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx (born December 13, 1967) is an American actor and singer from Terrell, Texas. He is best known for his performance as Ray Charles in Taylor Hackford's acclaimed biopic "Ray" (2004), which won Foxx the Academy Award for best actor. He was also honored with best actor prizes at the BAFTA Film Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Award and the Golden Globe Awards. The same year as his Oscar win, Foxx was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor thanks to his role opposite Tom Cruise in Michael Mann's "Collateral" (2004).

Foxx first gained attention as a supporting player on the sketch comedy series "In Living Color," which he starred on until the show's finale in 1994. Two years later, Foxx co-created and starred in the sitcom "The Jamie Foxx Show," which aired for five seasons and 100 episodes on The WB. His film career took off with a supporting role in "Ali" (2001), and his Oscar win led to greater opportunities in studio projects such as "Jarhead" (2005), "Dreamgirls" (2006), "Miami Vice" (2006) and "Horrible Bosses" (2011). One of his most well-known roles is the lead character in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained"  (2012). Two years later he made his comic book film debut as the villain Electro in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" (2014), a role he reprised in the Marvel tentpole "Spider-Man: No Way Home" (2021).
