Kaitlyn Dever (born Dec. 21, 1996) is an American actor who has starred in a variety of TV shows and films, like FX's Western drama "Justified," ABC's Tim Allen comedy "Last Man Standing, miniseries like "Unbelievable" and "Dopesick" and the high school comedy "Booksmart." Born in Phoenix, Ariz., she began acting lessons at 5 years old and her dad was a voice for Barney the Dinosaur. Her first TV role was in "An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong" in 2009, and she went on to appear in "Modern Family," "Party Down," "The Mentalist" and more. Her first film role came in the Cameron Diaz comedy "Bad Teacher" in 2011, and she also appeared in Leonardo DiCaprio's "J. Edgar," "The Spectacular Now," "Men, Women and Children," "Detroit," "Beautiful Boy" and more in the 2010s. Dever's first major role was on "Justified" playing Loretta McCready, a teen involved in the marijuana business who's looked after by Margo Martindale's matriarch Mags Bennett. She appeared in 17 episodes of "Justified" from 2011 to 2015; also in 2011 she booked a main role as Eve Baxter, the daughter of Tim Allen's lead character, on "Last Man Standing." In 2019, she broke out in Olivia Wilde's raunchy comedy "Booksmart," opposite Beanie Feldstein. In the 2020s, Dever co-starred with George Clooney and Julia Roberts in "Ticket to Paradise" and starred in the wordless action movie "No One Will Save You" and "Rosaline." She received a Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Dopesick," and a Globe nom for "Unbelievable." She stars in Season 2 of HBO's "The Last of Us" as Abby.
