Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart (born April 9, 1990) is an Oscar-nominated American actor best known for playing Bella Swan across five “Twilight” movies. Born in Los Angeles, Stewart landed her first major acting role at age 12 in David Fincher’s “Panic Room,” in which she played the daughter of Jodie Foster’s character. She went on to star in a handful of thrillers, indie dramas and sci-fi movies before being cast in the lead role of 2008’s “Twilight,” adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s hit vampire romance novel. Stewart became a global celebrity during the run of the four “Twilight” movies alongside her co-stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Simultaneously, Stewart starred in the romantic-comedy “Adventureland,” played Joan Jett in “The Runaways” and put her spin on Snow White in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” In the 2010s, Stewart gravitated toward independent productions, working with director Olivier Assayas on “Clouds of Sils Maria” and “Personal Shopper” before making her own directorial debut with the 2017 short film “Come Swim.” (Stewart would hone her helming skills with music videos by Chvrches and Boygenius, whom she directed in a three-song video titled “The Film.”) After starring in Elizabeth Banks’ “Charlie’s Angels” reboot and the queer holiday film “Happiest Season,” Stewart stepped into the role of Princess Diana in Pablo Larraín’s “Spencer,” which landed her an Oscar nomination for best actress. In 2024, Stewart brought two films to Sundance — the post-apocalyptic romance “Love Me” and the lesbian bodybuilder thriller “Love Lies Bleeding” — and was honored with the festival’s Visionary Award.
