Lily Gladstone

Lily Gladstone (born August 2, 1986) is an American actress from Kalispell, Montana. She was raised on the Blackfeet Reservation and is widely considered one of the pioneering Native American actors working today. A fan of "Star Wars" growing up as a child, Gladstone credits the Ewoks with inspiring her to pursue a career in the movies. She made her film debut in the 2012 French movie "Jimmy P: Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian" before signing on for supporting roles in the indie dramas "Winter in the Blood" and "Buster's Mal Heart," the latter of which was headlined by Rami Malek. It was her performance opposite Kristen Stewart in Kelly Reichardt's 2016 drama "Certain Women" that served as Gladstone's industry breakthrough. She was named best supporting actress of the year by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the Boston Society of Film Critics, while also earning nominations at the Independent Spirit Awards and the Gotham Awards. Reichardt cast Gladstone again in her follow-up "First Cow." It was these collaborations that put Gladstone on the radar of Martin Scorsese, who cast her as Mollie Kyle opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro in "Killers of the Flower Moon," for which Gladstone won the Golden Globe and SAG Award for best actress. "Flower Moon" also earned Gladstone her first Oscar nomination. She is the first Native American performer to be nominated for best actress at the Academy Awards.
