Museum news

The Museum’s new temporary exhibit explores Lithuania’s occupation by the Soviet Union, resistance movement, and life under oppression, as well as the eventual march toward freedom, democracy, and prosperity, featuring artwork from Henrikas Ciparis.

George F. Will writes that “D.C.’s new Victims of Communism Museum tells a vital, unfinished tale. Visitors to the museum will experience a wholesome immersion in the nation’s anti-communist success. And they will be reminded that this work is unfinished.

Explore the Museum’s previous temporary gallery on the Holodomor, which chronicles the Soviet-made famine that killed millions of Ukrainians from 1932-1933 and connects this dark chapter to Russia’s ongoing and brutal war in Ukraine.
