Balance Out the Aliens

Cute little game Alien Balance makes physics fun ... because what's more entertaining than trying to balance a bunch of adorable aliens??

You'll catch on pretty quick -- just drag the available aliens to one of the platforms and experiment until the two sides balance out. The quicker you do it, the better.

'Memba Al From 'Step by Step'?

Known best for her role as Al Lambert on the '90s TGIF show "Step by Step," Christine Lakin made it cool for girls to watch games with the guys and rock overalls, rather than put on makeup. But as Al grew up, she started embracing her girly side (and even looked hot doing so) but still never lost her tomboy-ish ways. Click to find out if she ever completely grew out of her overalls!

Whoa! Did 'Hiccup Girl' Kill a Guy?

Hiccup girl accused of murder: well, at least she's not hiccuping anymore. You may remember Jennifer Mee's 2007 appearance on the "Today" show as "Hiccup Girl," the girl who (fascinatingly?) just couldn't seem to stop hiccuping. But she may get a new, more prison-y nickname, as she's just been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

In case you live the kind of life where you can barely remember the weekend, let alone three years ago, don't worry, we're here to refresh your memory and not judge. A few years back, Jennifer Mee was plagued with a nasty case of the hiccups that lasted for weeks and weeks. As if that weren't annoying enough, she became a minor news sensation, mostly because she was of fer "Today" show interview but also because everyone under the sun thinks they have the actual cure for hiccups.

And now apparently, over the weekend, 19-year-old Jennifer and two cohorts lured a man to a St. Petersburg, Fla., address, where they robbed, shot and killed him. All three were arrested and admitted to being involved in the crime. If this is what happens to Hiccup Girl, just think where the Puppy-Throwing Teen is going to be in three years.

Brenna Fisch, an Emmy Rossum Look-Alike, Falls Off Mountain ... Lives

And you thought your day was bad...

Brenna Fisch, 19, a University of Colorado student (far left), was having "one of those days," she told the "Today" show, so she went out for a hike, and before she knew it, plummeted 40 feet off a cliff.

After dragging herself 100 feet, she was found the next day, semi-conscious and hypothermic, by a U.C. grad-school couple who were hiking. That was a month ago.

Today doctors said they'd managed to patch her skull back together and, happily, Brenna is expected to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile she bears such a striking resemblance to actress Emmy Rossum, she may resuscitate Rossum's career in the process. The last update on Rossum's personal website is from 2007: She had just released three Christmas songs from her "Carol of the Bells" EP.

Brenna, pay it forward: Emmy needs you! Do we hear a made-for-TV-movie? See Brenna tell her story here.

Too Old to Trick-or-Treat? Celebrate With Halloween-y Cocktails

The best thing about Halloween used to be the pillowcase full of candy. But if you don't have a kid to borrow, trick-or-treating at a certain age can be ... embarrassing.

On the plus side, it's an excuse to eat candy in drink form, mixed with alcohol (and we don't have to worry about anybody hiding razorblades in it). Enjoy these drinks while you watch "Hocus Pocus" and imagine sucking the youth out of passing trick-or-treaters.

The Dead Lebowski
This morbid cocktail is basically a White Russian with a cookie rim. Yes, that's right. We said "cookie rim." Deal with it.

2 parts vodka
1 part Kahlua
A generous splash of half & half
Oreo cookies

To garnish: 1 Barbie leg, toes painted green.

Crush three to four Oreo sandwich cookies into a small dish or saucer, and fill another with a splash of Kahlua. Dip the rim of a rocks glass in the Kahlua saucer, and then into the dish of cookie crumbs to coat. Add ice and fill with vodka, Kahlua and cream. Stir to combine with leg.

Middle-Aged Women and Short Hair -- What Gives?

Boom! Proof -- a middle-aged lady with short hair. You remember the part in "The Breakfast Club" where Ally Sheedy says that when you grow up, your heart dies? We're not sure if that's true, but we're pretty sure of one thing: When women get older, their hair bobs.

Having spent most of our childhoods and teen years experimenting with pixie cuts, Emo Phillips dos and crazy girl bangs, most of us at Lemondrop have settled into medium-to-long hair. (Trendy haircuts are awesome, but also expensive. We're in a recession. We can't keep up with Katie Holmes anymore.)

It pains us to admit it, but dudes seem to like it, and all we have to do is keep it on our head, which is super-easy. Sometimes it gets washed. That's it.

So, why do middle-aged women seem to always chop theirs off?

According to one 55-year-old writer for The New York Times, it's because long hair is high-maintenance, and keeping it long after a certain age almost seems like an act of rebellion. The ladies over at Slate think short hair reflects a more practical outlook on life. And, of course, there's that old article over at the Daily Mail about how women chop their hair off if they're losing interest in sex. (We know, we know -- WE'RE JUST RE-REPORTING HERE.)

What do you think? Do women end up shorn because they're so practical, or is it because Jamie Lee Curtis looks sooo good in those yogurt commercials? Cast your vote below.
