Minutes after Elise Testone was eliminated on Thursday's American Idol, season 11 judge Jennifer Lopez lamented the fact that she and her table-mates can't mentor the finalists one-on-one. 

Set your "Clocks" for next week's American Idol results show: British band Coldplay will hit the stage with two songs, presumably from their new CD, Mylo Xyloto.

Although Thursday's American Idol results show featuring Katy Perry and season 10's Stefano Langone is merely hours away, Idol producers created a buzz with an early morning tweet from the show's Twitter account: “Breaking news! @Coldplay will be performing on #idol next Thursday, May 3rd! What is your favorite Coldplay song?”

On Wednesday's American Idol, the remaining six were given two assignments: a song from Queen, and one of their choice.

Some contestants won perfect scores in the first and second rounds, and others missed the mark at least once on a stage solo. All in all, like Jennifer Lopez said, "Everybody had one good performance. It's about who America loves."

Talk about drama: None other than Jessica Sanchez --- the frontrunner, the one to beat, the future winner of American Idol season 11! -- earned the lowest amount of votes on Thursday's results show, drawing gasps and boos from the stunned studio audience.

DeAndre Brackensick was an American Idol wild card from the beginning.

But the falsetto-voiced contestant is self-aware: he knows he's polarizing and aims to grow from his Idol experience. Brackensick, the Fox show's latest casualty, spoke with THR correspondent -- and season 9 alumna -- Didi Benami following his ouster Thursday, saying he had a feeling he would go home that night.

It was '80s Night on Wednesday's American Idol, and for the most part, the remaining eight finalists paid solid tribute to the decade of decadence, tapered jeans and big hair.

Ryan Seacrest was there in the beginning, and he's here to stay -- for now.

The multi-tasking TV host and producer said he intends to remain on American Idol, and that an official announcement is forthcoming. His Idol contract is set to expire after the current season.

"I plan to stay there," he told the Today show's Matt Lauer on Wednesday. "I expect to be on that show."
