Following on from the thread, would it suit everyone (weather permitting) to meet at St Stephens Green around 2-3pm?
We can loiter around awkwardly and tell unfunny jokes until we think it's time to get drunk.
But if we start drinking at 14:00-15:00 then the unfunny jokes will sound better.
Also there maybe a split of the group in B&C since you can only get finger food upstairs. So if people want burgers, Streaks, etc they will have to go downstairs!
Are you sure? I've had full meals upstairs before. Was a group thing though.
I've contacted the manager of the B&C to see what we can get. There's a fair sized table upstairs that would suit nicely.
Another option could be going on a pub crawl. Go one place at 2 for good beer/drinks, another place around 5 that serves food, and then take it from there? It could simplify or complicate the situation, depending on how it goes!
@iris
I think we should all just agree on a starting point. Then take it from there. From the thread it seemed like last year people didn't really start turning up until 4pm or so.
How many people want to start the drinking shenanigans at 2pm?
All the "Cool" kids will be drinking from 14:03...
I see your point, but the main reason I'm suggesting booking places is because that way if fifty people show, we'll at least have space for them! I was at the meetup last year, and even at 2pm there was a group of at least 20 at the meetup point, and we headed to the pub then. Different people came and went all day, I think at it's peak it was about 40. I'd say overall about 60 came and went though. I think it'd be a mistake to underestimate the amount of people - most places you don't have to pay a deposit or anything, and unfortunately in this climate pubs are begging for the business!
yep. I mentioned in the thread I was speaking to the manager of the B+C. Looking at booking our place upstairs.
Ok. We've got a table booked for 30 in the B+C for 2pm.
We can increase that figure closer to the time if we want.
Sounds awesome :)
Excellent!
