After setting yet another record on YouTube, the South Korean artist will reveal his new rap video featuring Snoop Dogg on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" next week.

SEOUL – Psy has done it again. "Gangnam Style" recorded 2 billion views on YouTube over the weekend, as the South Korean rapper readies to return to his hip-hop roots with Snoop Dogg.

"Gangnam Style" made history again for YouTube on May 31, becoming the first clip to garner 2 billion views since the video-sharing site's inception in 2005. After being released in July 2012, the iconic horse-dance video made it into the Guinness World Records book for attracting the most number of "likes" (2.14 million) on YouTube. After entering the top ranks of major international music charts including Billboard's, it recorded 1 billion views on Dec. 22.

"I don't remember when ['Gangnam Style'] broke 1 billion views, but I do recall thinking, 'How did I ever make such a record,' " Psy said.

Meanwhile, the 36-year-old is due to appear with Snoop Dogg on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! broadcast at 7 p.m. ET on June 8, where the two will unveil the music video for their new collaboration piece, "Hangover."

Though internationally known for his comedic dance sequences in "Gangnam Style" and follow-up "Gentleman," Psy has been known in the Korea as a pioneering alternative hip-hop artist since his 2001 debut album, Bird.

The singer, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, previously said his upcoming album would be about turning back to his true musical color, especially since he felt that "Gentleman" wasn't "really me.

"My new songs will mark a return to my roots and be truer to who I am," he said.

"If the two songs ['Gangnam Style' and 'Gentleman'] were solo pieces, then this upcoming song ['Hangover'] I've worked on with will be a complete hip-hop piece."

"Hangover" will launch on iTunes at 1 p.m. June 9 (Korea Standard Time).
