Book Report: Diane Keaton's New Tome Focuses on Turtlenecks, 'Genius High Heels'
For more than 40 years, Diane Keaton has established herself as a fashion and beauty force both on- and offscreen, with her unforgettable menswear-inspired look in the Academy Award-winning film Annie Hall and the tux and tousled silver locks she rocked on stage at this year’s Golden Globes. So it goes without saying that we can't wait to crack open her new tome, Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty, on shelves now.

Keaton's book not only chronicles Hollywood’s ever-changing ideals of beauty, but also her firsthand experiences of staying true to herself over the years. The book follows in the wake of Keaton’s best-selling memoir, Then Again, which captures her reflections on motherhood. From dissecting her love of turtlenecks and hats (anyone remember her bowler look?), to the pros and cons of hair extensions and her thoughts on the definition of beauty, Keaton tackles Hollywood’s obsession over looks with her signature candor and humor.
The leading lady also dishes on a few of her style tips, including “when in doubt, stick to black” and “every woman needs one pair of genius high heels,” citing her own pair of seven-inch Louboutins, which she lovingly refers to as “red medicine.”
Consider our hats off to the gorgeous woman who made hats in.
