HERE’S HOPING: A few weeks ago, Danny Gokey earned his first-ever Billboard No. 1, when his album Hope in Front of Me debuted in pole position on Top Christian Albums. Now, the season eight alum could collect his first No. 1 single as early as next week, thanks to the title song's two-point jump to No. 2 on the Christian Airplay chart.

IT'S A J-HUD 'WORLD': Jennifer Hudson performed her new single, "It's Your World," on the June 29 BET Awards, and now the track, which features R. Kelly, has made its way onto the Billboard charts, debuting at No. 25 on Adult R&B. It is the follow-up to "Walk It Out," which is still on the survey, falling from 25 to 28 in its 12th week, after peaking at No. 22. This current run of singles from Hudson's forthcoming album, due out Sept.

HOLY TRINITY: A triad of American Idol alums are representing the Christian genre well on the Billboard charts, and all three are enjoying upward movement this week.

'FALLING' RISING: Paul McDonald met actress Nikki Reed at a movie premiere while he was competing on season 10 of American Idol. They fell in love and were married on Oct. 16, 2011. A little over a year later they released an EP of duets, The Best Part, which peaked at No. 28 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and No. 25 on Top Folk Albums.

'HOPE' IN FRONT: When Danny Gokey competed on American Idol, he was pulled aside by one of the season eight mentors, Randy Travis. Travis, a country superstar, made a strong suggestion that Gokey should consider a career in country music — that country was missing the soul in Gokey's voice. Shortly after the season finale, Gokey signed with Sony Music in Nashville. His debut release, My Best Days, peaked at No. 3 on Top Country Albums and No. 4 on the Billboard 200.

HERE COMES THE JUDGE: The new Jennifer Lopez album, A.K.A., impacts this week's charts in a big way, debuting on six different lists. On two of those charts, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top R&B Albums, A.K.A. bows at No. 1. On the former, this is Lopez' first chart-topping set in over 12 years, since J to the L-O! The Remixes spent one week in first place in February 2002. A.K.A. is the third Lopez album to top this chart — her other CD to achieve pole position was J.Lo in February 2001.

FIVE FOR FIGHTING: American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez is all over the Billboard charts, with five songs in various states of play. She joins Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte on "We Are One (Ole Ola)," the official anthem of the 2014 World Cup, which re-enters The Billboard Hot 100 at No. 59, as World Cup fever rises to a new pitch. The single also returns to Pop Digital Songs at No. 28 and climbs 40 to 31 on Latin Pop Airplay.

'BAD' NEWS: This is a really great week for "Somethin' Bad," the duet by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. The two leading ladies of country music find their single making some major moves on four Billboard song charts. Also, their collaboration appears on Lambert's album Platinum, which debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums.

AND SHE’S NOT GOING: Season three alum Jennifer Hudson didn't register on the Billboard charts immediately after her year on American Idol. It took an Academy Award to push her first single to appear on the Adult R&B chart into the top three -- that was "And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going" from the soundtrack to Dreamgirls, the film that propelled her to a Oscar victory. Hudson has been unstoppable ever since. Her latest singe, "Walk It Out," is a new entry this week at No. 29.

'FEELIN'' GOOD: "See You Tonight," the first single from Scotty McCreery’s sophomore album of the same name, has had such a long run on the Billboard country charts that the season 10 champ’s label has understandingly been reluctant to release a follow-up. Now, after 32 weeks on the charts, there is finally a new single from the 20-year-old North Carolinian. “Feelin’ It,” which has been described as a “summertime romp,” is a new entry on the Country Airplay chart at No. 54.
