In a break from the newsroom's coverage of more sobering topics, a "weird news" story from NPR about mysterious cattle deaths has gotten over a million page views since publishing last week.

But some NPR readers were frustrated by the report.

Live interviews at NPR can be valuable tools for timely on-air updates on developing news. But when misinformation slips in and is not immediately corrected, live interviews have the potential to confuse and mislead listeners.
