I have enabled simple caching and used the cache tester and it seems to be fine but when I tried to check using https://cache-checker.com/, it says that my website is does not have a caching mechanism. I also checked with the Site Health Plugin and it also shows that it detects a caching plugin but it there seems to be a problem.

I also have cloudflare CDN enabled, so I am not sure if that conflicts with something or not. I just want to make sure that the website has caching enabled since it is quite slow to load especially for mobile.

Page cache is detected but server response time is still slow

    •  Median server response time was 704 milliseconds. It should be less than the recommended 600 milliseconds threshold.
    •  There was 1 client caching response header detected: cache-control.
    •  A page cache plugin was detected.

Is it possible that my hosting plan is just slow or could it be some other reason?

  • Caching by the plugin is working (view the source, scroll to the bottom to see the html comment).

The caching this checker is looking for is set for the browser to cache the page. Your site is sending headers that I presume are sent by Cloudflare so it might be worth looking through their settings.
