Could not retrieve Facebook Business Extension System User

    Hi,
    When I try to connect woocommerce facebook plugin for products sync, at the end of the configuration I get the error “Something went wrong when connecting to facebook! Could not retrieve Facebook Business Extension System User”. Woo log is this:

    ** wc_facebook_external_business_id it’s ok, uninstalled plugin, deleted mysql values and started again but it doesn’t connect.
    What can i do?

    Hi there,

    Thank you for the error message. They seem to point to a distinct error Failed to connect to Facebook. Reason: Permissions error: access_denied, reason: user_denied sounds like facebook is deliberately rejecting the user account.

    Could you try the connection using a Google Chrome Incognito window? That should help avoid any residual user session data in your browser.

    Does that change anything?

    Hi again,

    Ok, let’s try a conflict check next.

    * Take a full backup.
    * Activate: https://wordpress.org/plugins/check-conflicts/
    * Use Check Conflicts to only activate WooCommerce and Facebook for WooCommerce.

    Does that change anything?

    I tried and the error is the same. Tests are done with browser in incognito mode.

    This error can sometimes occur if there are non-ascii characters in the page title. Can you try the following steps and let me know if it helps?

    – Go to /wp-admin/options.php
    – Search for wc_facebook_external_business_id
    – In the field next to it, change the data in that field to just the basic title of the page without any extra/special characters in place.
    – Scroll to the bottom of this page and click Save Changes.
    – In some cases, the data may not be saved due to larger databases and / or PHP settings, so after saving this, locate the wc_facebook_external_business_id field again and verify that the changes in place did save.

    Once this is done, can you please try to connect to Facebook again and let me know if you get any further in the connection process?

    I changed directly from mysql table and checked again after, still doesn’t connect. same error: Could not retrieve Facebook Business Extension System User. this is the full log now:

    When you say “In the field next to it, change the data in that field to just the basic title of the page without any extra/special characters in place.” you mean basic title name of business? Beacause that is now set. Or it should be the id of business, not the name?

    I have this same exact issue. Been crawling every form. Every Facebook help page. Nothing works. Looking forward to seeing a solutions.

    Hi all,

    I am sorry to hear that the problem with the setup still persists. Please try these additional troubleshooting steps:

    – Confirm that the Facebook account you are trying to log in has 2FA Authentication enabled. For some users, we have seen that re-enabling 2FA solved the problem.

    – If your site is using another language try to set it to English and connect again. Your site’s currency should be also supported on Facebook.

    – Try after completely removing the WooCommerce App and System User from your Facebook Business Manager.

    – Let us know what happens when you try to connect to another Facebook account.

    If all of the above fails, please create a ticket so that we can investigate the problem further.

    I’ve tried everything and the same error appears: “Could not retrieve Facebook Business Extension System User”
