I have an issue with connecting jetpack’s latest plugin. Even though I get to the Successful Connection screen after clicking the blue Connect to Jetpack button, when I go back to the dashboard the blue button is there again and I get no stats.

Ive posted here about it to no avail. I emailed support and they are taking their time responding. So I decided to make a fresh install of wp, a second one. The new install was made to public/wordpress_2/ instead of public/. I just connected to jetpack and it worked without a hitch!

What should I do now? Should I keep trying to fix my old install or just move everything to my new install? How do I make it so that users dont have to go to mydomain.com/wordpress_2/?

  • Just seconding that I’m experiencing the same issue. Continuously being looped into the same process when trying to connect — it tells me that I am connected but then takes me back to the dashboard, where it says “Connect Jetpack.”

I did a new install, but still no luck – help on this would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Hi @marciokoko and @daksharangan !

If you’re stuck in that connection loop, here’s what to do:

Do you have a caching plugin or service on your site? If so, you’ll need to clear the cache for your website. It may be a link at the top of your dashboard, or maybe in a plugin setting, or on the dashboard’s main page.

After the site’s cache is cleared, disable and then completely delete the Jetpack plugin on your Plugins page.

Then reinstall Jetpack, and attempt to connect again.

If you don’t have a caching feature, or you aren’t sure where to find it, we have a little alternative connection route plugin you can use.

    Can you download this plugin:
    http://d.pr/f/BgBT

Download the file, then install, and activate this plugin via Plugins > Add New > Upload in your site’s Dashboard (don’t expand the .zip file before uploading), then try to connect?

Once connected, please delete this plugin.

Please let us know if that works. Thanks!

Its not clear where that cache-clearing link would be? Is that a wp feature or a web host feature.?

I can’t even get it to connect with this alternative plugin

Got it to connect after disabling all plugins, then enable jetpack only, connect and then enable all the other plugins…

This is often something that may be implemented on your site thanks to a caching plugin. If you do not use any caching plugin on your site, you can try Lisa’s second suggestion.

Let us know how it goes!

The old connection flow thing worked.
I was having the same issue as everyone else and wasn’t using a caching plugin.

    Thank you, @lschuyler!
    You lifesaver, you!
