    Dear VideoPress,
I need to disable download button from all videos. It is neither in the Videopress settings nor in the Block settings. I’ve tried also controlsList=”nodownload” but it gives me bugs (sometimes it deactivates video, only picture is visible).
Could you please help me to solve it?
    Thank you,
    Sabina

    `Hi, there!
Unfortunately, setting that option in the current version of the VideoPress plugin is impossible.
However, we’ve already implemented that option in the development version, which, we hope, will be released in two days.

If you really need to do that, there is a way that isn’t ideal but can work:

    1) Install and activate the <a href=”https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/&#8221; rel=”noopener” target=”_blank”>Jetpack plugin</a>
    2) Go to edit the post/page with the video block
    3) Transform the block to a core/video block
    4) There, you’ll see, among many options, the download one.
    5) Change the setting
    6) Transform again to VideoPress video block

If it isn’t urgent, I do recommend waiting a few days until the new version is released. The improvements are significant.

    Hi there, Sabina.
The latest version of VideoPress, 1.2.0, has the option in the block settings, in the Privacy and rating panel:

Let’s mark it as resolved 🙂

    Hi guys,
it works perfectly, thank you so much! 🙂
Just to double-check – my videos are embedded in my paid online course page, so anyone who purchases this course should have those videos available but noone else should have access (share link shouldn’t work). To achieve this I have to:
    1) untick the download box
    AND
    2) set the video as Private.
Is it correct? Just to be sure Private option wouldn’t block my course members from playing the videos.
    Thank you!

    We’re glad to hear that!
    That’s correct, Sabrina.

Also, remember that you can set the privacy at the site level:

Then, set the video privacy with the Site default value:

Spoiler alert: To improve video privacy, we’ll add a way to disable the sharing option available from the next release.
