Hi @theqreditor –
Thank you so much for patiently waiting for a response! We have a backlog of support requests and work through them on a first-come, first-served basis.
I ran your site through the Google PageSpeed Insights tool and it saw the messages about next generation image formats. This is something that our Site Accelerator feature should be able to help with, as the images highlighted are being loaded in PNG
format from your servers.
However, looking at your site, I see the Image Accelerator isn’t enabled. Please enable it by following these instructions. Once you do that, please test again to see if the messages disappear.
Beyond this, we have additional suggestions for improving your site speed at:
No problem for the wait.
I have now re-enabled site accelerator, image and static files, and see no difference in my site’s performance on pagespeed insights.
I don’t seem to be running very much that could be conflicting with Jetpack, the site being based on Guttenberg blocks/Postx Guttenberg, which are pretty lightweight.
Any help appreciated,
Will
Hey Will! Thanks for reaching back out.
WordPress.com benchmarks as a very fast host, so this is very likely to be due to your site’s configuration. You might find the documentation helpful: Improve Your Website’s Speed and Performance.
You can also find some descriptive guidance on the PageSpeed insights for your site, particularly:
Reduce unused JavaScript and defer loading scripts until they are required to decrease bytes consumed by network activity. Learn how to reduce unused JavaScript.LCP
Consider reducing, or switching, the number of WordPress plugins loading unused JavaScript in your page. To identify plugins that are adding extraneous JS, try running code coverage in Chrome DevTools. You can identify the theme/plugin responsible from the URL of the script. Look out for plugins that have many scripts in the list which have a lot of red in code coverage. A plugin should only enqueue a script if it is actually used on the page.
