Just recently, I’m unable to connect my WordPress blog to Facebook. Clicking on Jetpack Social and connect to Facebook, I get this error: “Invalid/missing blog nonce. All core actions require a valid nonce.” Actually, clicking on anything in that section gives the error.

I’ve cleared my cache, I’ve tried another browser, and I’ve verified I’m connected to Jetpack. I’ve tried disabling a few of the other plugins I have. Nothing seems to work. Not sure what else to try.

    Hi there, @buber,

I’m sorry to hear about the trouble, but thanks for reaching out.

I checked your connection, and I noticed that it’s nto working as exepcted due to a block happening on the server side. This can affect the way the Social feature connects to the social media accounts – Facebook in your case.

Let’s address the connection issue first and see if that helps 🙂
Check for any security/caching plugins you may have enabled, and try temporarily disabling them to see if it fixes the problem. You may also want to search for any firewall on your server-side that might be blocking the communication with the xmlrpc.php file – your host should be able to help you with that.

You may also want to double-check that our IP range is fully allowlisted – your host can help you with that too.

Hope that’s all clear! Let me know how you get on, and we’ll take it from there if necessary.

Thanks Stef. I deactivated Wordfence, the only security plugin I have, and as others have noted that did nothing. I’ll ask my host if he can check some of these other things.

It seems like suddenly a lot of people are having this trouble. Did nothing change on the Jetpack side that might cause this?

    Hi there @buber,

You’re right – it seems like we have a tiny glitch that’s spreading around. We have alerted our developers who are investigating on that deeper.

In the meantime, could you try the following to see if that fixes the problem?

    • Log out of your site and log back in.
    • Disconnect Jetpack and reconnect it.
    • Open the Jetpack Social connection page in a new tab and try adding a connection.

Let me know how you get on 🤞

I’m not sure what has changed, but I opened Jetpack Social in a new tab and when I clicked connect to Facebook, it said I needed to be logged in to WordPress.com (which was a new alert). I did that, and the connection now works… Thanks for the help!
