I have recently starting working on an existing site that has 200 subscribers. The site is connected to Jetpack but there is no user account connected. The person who maintained the site previously is no longer involved.

My question is – if I connect my WordPress account will that cause any issues with the existing subscribers? If I read the helptext correctly the subscribers are attached to the site, not the user account. Is that accurate?

    Thanks for any help provided.

    Hi there,

When you connect your WordPress.com account to Jetpack, your account becomes the primary owner of the Jetpack connection. However, this will not affect the existing subscribers to your site. Subscribers are indeed attached to the site itself rather than to any particular WordPress.com account. Your subscribers will remain subscribed and will continue to receive notifications about new posts as normal.

If there are any other users who need administrative access to Jetpack’s features, you can invite them as additional connected users from the Jetpack Dashboard on your site.

Feel free to reply in this thread if you have further questions or need assistance with the connecting process.

    Thank you!
