    Currently Akismet is turned off because there is a serious performance issue with running the plugin on my website. Adding products to the woocommerce shopping cart get to the point where the website feels broken. The issue began with the last update to the plugin.

    Performance issues are hard to diagnose without direct access to the website, but can you confirm that the issue was present in version 4.1.8 but not if you downgrade to 4.1.7? (You can install 4.1.7 by downloading https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/akismet.4.1.7.zip and then uploading it to your site.)

    So I think it was an issue with Jetpack and Akismet with the recent update it working great. Also, I’m upgrading the server to 7.4 php and MariaDB Server 10.5 which should help. Thanks for the time
