    Hi,

We had some direct urls immediately blocked BUT since you totally inform the attacker what was the issue, some bot operators have bypassed this.

Why do we have to give details on WHY the block was in place? That is absurd. It really is.

    Thanks

Hi @dimalifragis, thanks for your message.

Many site owners have users who can get blocked, so if the user can relay the reason that they were blocked, it usually helps the site owner figure out which settings may be too aggressive. It also helps when a site owner is blocked unintentionally, so they know what the problem is.

Firstly in relation to your point, we have now added making an option to hide this information as a development request. There may be other customers who feel the same way although, as I may have mentioned to you before, we can’t comment on progress or specifics here.

Secondly, it may help us prioritize that work if you have evidence of IPs blocked for reasons that were later circumvented – showing modified behavior as you’ve described. If you do, please email it to feedback @ wordfence . com so our Threat Intelligence team can take a look.

    Many thanks,
    Peter.
