preload limiter is missing in update 1.8

The dropdown box for limiting the amount of pages when preloading disappeared after the last update (1.8). Is this on purpose or a bug?

maybe I was not clear enough. In every version prior to 1.8 you can select in the preload tab how many pages should be preloaded by wp super cache in preload mode. (all, 12, 24, 36, etc. from new to old)
This is handy In case you are on a shared server with lots of pages (10000+) like your plugin describes even in 1.8.This control dissapeared on multiple websites after updating from 1.7.9 to 1.8

I’ve checked the codebase and can confirm that the Preload tab hasn’t been changed between 1.7.9 and 1.8.
However, the option to limit the number of pages to preload only appears if your site has more than 100 published posts.
Here is a screenshot from my test site running 1.9, with 101 published posts:
Can you please check the number of published posts your site has?
