I found out that when I fill in the SEO Title and Description via Jetpack for every page and post, it is indeed added as Meta in the source of the page. But when I edit that page the Title and Description are empty again. This should be filled with the current data.

Bug? Feature ( I hope not!)?

    Hi @marco-raaphorst,

Thanks for getting back to us.

I detected a sync issue with your site’s Jetpack setup and have scheduled a fix in the background and will get back to you to check when the sync is fixed.

In the meantime, please keep monitoring the situation with your SEO fields and let us know if you see any changes.

    Best regards,

    Hello @marco-raaphorst,

Thanks for your patience while we performed a full sync of your site. I can still see a teeny tiny discrepancy in the way the data are being cached to our servers.

Could you please check the issue again and let us know if that’s solved? If not, we’ll involve our tech team to investigate further.

Look forward to your reply, thanks!

For pages and posts it now seems to work. When I edit a post with a SEO-Title and SEO-Description these boxes are filled with the text I added. But it seems that it is not working for special pages like for example this one https://marcoraaphorst.nl/ufaq/hoe-lang-moet-een-aflevering-duren/ which uses the Ultimate FAQ plugin https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-faqs/ For these posts SEO-Title and SEO-Description are empty when I reopen those posts.

    Hi there, @marco-raaphorst,

    That’s interesting information:

But it seems that it is not working for special pages like for example this one https://marcoraaphorst.nl/ufaq/hoe-lang-moet-een-aflevering-duren/ which uses the Ultimate FAQ plugin

If you temporarily deactivate the plugin, will the feature resume working as usual? If you don’t want to test that on the actual page you may need, you can set up a similar page and see how it goes.

Let me know what you find out!

    Hey there, @marco-raaphorst,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!

I deactivated and reactivated Jetpack. I can confirm that the SEO settings are not shown after saving a FAQ post using the https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/ultimate-faqs/ plugin. So there is still an issue.

    Hi Marco

I was looking into this and was confuse about the why the SEO tools were not showing up in the editor when you are editing the page/FAQ but only when you aer just about to publish the post.

It turns out that you do always have access to the SEO setting for any visible post type ( posts, pages, FAQs). They are just located in a Jetpack Plugin side panel in the editor.

    See https://cldup.com/9WZ-XAl-sv.jpg screenshot.

    Does this answer your confusion?

Yes I know how to open these SEO settings as you are showing on the screenshot. But the thing is: after I fill in these text boxes and publish/save the post these boxes are empy. As if there’s no title and description. This is an error in Jetpack.

    Hi Marco

Thanks for reporting this issue. I was able to replicate it. We don’t have a solution for it yet but we should be able to get to the bottom of this and provide a fix.

We are now tracking this issue here https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/38597
