    Hi folks,

seems that there is a problem with the calculation of the remaining shares: In the morning, I have had 22 remaining shares (displayed on jetpack/social) and a free plan.

Currently, I have 6 planned blog posts. I opened one of them and set the checkboxes for sharing on Facebook and Twitter (2 shares). I saved the planned blog post. The blog post will be published in the afternoon. So nothing was shared on social media at this moment. But after the save of the post, the displayed remaining shares dropped from 22 to 6. How could this happen?

I hope this is not an error to direct the wordpress users to pay money in the future?

    Kind regards

    Joerg

    Hello Joerg,

Jetpack Social’s 30 free shares also count scheduled posts that will be made in a 30-day period, but I need your help checking my math! It sounds like you’ve scheduled a total of 12 shares, correct? (Six posts, shared to two social networks?) If that’s the case, you should still have 10 shares left, not 6.

I hope this is not an error to direct the wordpress users to pay money in the future?

We’d never artificially manipulate the share counts to get you to pay!

We do feel that Jetpack Social will give a site owner the kind of value that’s worth the investment, so for folks who share more than 30 times to social media in a 30-day period, we now have the Jetpack Social Basic plan. Jetpack Social’s ancestor (Publicize) was free for a decade, and during that time it didn’t receive significant feature updates. Now, we have a new team who’s dedicated to both improving and adding new social sharing features. Our FAQ has a sneak-peek at some of those features that are coming soon.

Please let us know if you have any other questions, or if we need to dig deeper on the math for your remaining share counts.

No – not correct. The plugin seems to do some wrong calculations!

I have noticed it just a minute ago again:

I have had 8 remaining shares. I wrote a new blog post and planned it. In the right sidebar, I could read, the post will be shared on facebook and twitter (=2 shares!). After pressing the plan button, the remaining shares dropped by 3 (!!!).

Before you started with the restricted share policy, I have had three share channels: facebook, twitter and tumblr. Then I have removed the connection to tumblr and in the right sidebar, tumbler is no longer shown – but still 3 shares are counted.

How could I get the wrongly reduced shares back?

    Thanks in advance

    Joerg

    Hi @saarfuchs

Looking at your account, I see that you had some older connections to other social media platforms. I have removed those.

Next time you share, can you let us know if the count drops by 2 shares? If so, there is a bug that we will need to address.
