I already had a working connection to woocommerce payments and so to wordpress.com too.

But previously when thing were working, I did not have jetpack installed.

Last Sunday, I made a change on woocommerce payment methods on stripe by removing the default payment method and adding a new one.

After this was done, the connection from my wordpress site to woocommerce payments (stripe) was lost.

I tried disabling plugins, resetting htaccess, reinstalling/deleting jetpack and reconnecting. Changing the theme to default, etc.

Nothing worked so far, everytime I try to reconnect to woocommerce payments via wordpress.com, I see below message on woocommerce payment plugin page:
“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

I contacted woocommerce payments, stripe support regarding this and shared error logs as well. But their suggestions (reconnecting/disconnecting jetpack after complete plugin deletion) etc didn’t work.

I had a seperate hosting account which I moved from in May,2023. Luckily I still have my files and DBs in that hosting account. So I changed my IP addresses from cloudflare to my old hosting and checked the functionality of the site, issue was still there. The older version also cannot connnect to woocommerce payments, no matter what I did.

    I did everything suggested here:

    https://jetpack.com/support/getting-started-with-jetpack/known-issues/

If someone can help me, that would be great.

I did below steps suggested by, @madhattersez here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/there-was-a-problem-connecting-this-site-to-wordpress-com-3/

    1. From the wp-admin dashboard of your site, please go to Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections > “Manage site connection” from your left-hand menu.
    2. Click the “Disconnect” button. If it’s already disconnected, you can skip to the next step.
    3. Deactivate your Jetpack plugin by heading to Plugins > Installed Plugins and finding “Jetpack by WordPress.com.”
    4. Completely uninstall Jetpack.
    5. Deactivate all of you plugins.
    6. Reinstall the newest version of Jetpack.
    7. Activate Jetpack.
    8. In Jetpack > Dashboard > Connections > “Manage site connection,” Click the “Set up Jetpack” button and continue through the approval process.
    9. Reactivate all of your plugins.

    Same old results:
“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

In order to use WooCommerce Payments, the Jetpack plugin needs to be connected to your WordPress.com account on the site.

Please post your site URL here so that we can check the site’s Jetpack connection.

If you want it to remain private, you can also contact us via this contact form:

    Hello @yakibooki

Do you have updates about that? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no activity, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
