Widget Custom HTML no copy & paste available

    Hi all,

    I have a quick question regarding the Custom HTML editor to create sidebar widget. The problem is that I cannot copy & paste in the editor. Furthermore, I cannot select specific parts of the already written HTML code and e.g. paste it somewhere else.

    For example if I write some HTML code offline on my Mac, I cannot just simply copy it and paste it into the Custom HTML editor within the widget section.

    Do you have any idea how I could fix this issue?

    Howdy Marco,

    I’m unable to replicate this. I was able to copy code from a text editor and paste it in the Custom HTML widget on both the Widgets page and the Customizer. I used both right click to copy/paste as well as the command + c and command + v hotkeys.

    I would first try these things to resolve the issue:

    1. Update your browser
    2. Try disabling any browser addons or extensions that could be conflicting
    3. Try a different browser

    It also couldn’t hurt to make sure your WordPress and its plugins are all up to date as well.

    If none of that works, it’s possible there is a plugin conflict. In that case, maybe try disabling plugins temporarily to see if they are the cause.

    Hi Michael,

    you were right. It has something to do with a plugin called “Custom Sidebars”. If I deactivate this plugin and go to Widgets, I can copy + paste, select text etc. like in a normal document. As soon as I activate “Custom Sidebars” again, I cannot do anything.

    Hm what would be your recommendation. I need custom sidebars, because I want different sidebars on pages. Therefore, I kind of rely on the plugin.

    Or do you know a plugin that works with “Astra” and can replace “Custom Sidebars” for me?
