Hello Soylaostia,
Thanks for reaching out regarding your XML sitemap.
Your Yoast-generated XML sitemap will be located at /sitemap_index.xml/ and the content type is text/xml, not HTML.
This issue can occur sometimes due to caching plugins or server-side caching. Try clearing your cache from your plugin, theme, server, browser, or CDN such as Cloudflare and resubmit the sitemap. If you are not sure how to clear your server caching, please speak with your host provider. If you need to clear your browser caching this guide may help: How to clear my browser’s cache?
Please know that it may take a few days or more for Google to update the results in the Google Search Console.
Idea: maybe you delete that option of sitemap in html.
Hey @soylaostia,
There is no option in Yoast SEO to output the sitemap in HTML. If this is the case on your site like Mabel said in her reply, it’s most likely due to a caching plugin that was/is caching your (Yoast) sitemaps and outputs them as HTML. We do not control this. See https://yoast.com/help/exclude-sitemaps-from-cache/ for more references on how to exclude that from happening.
We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
Oh, I see now, sitemap HTML must be removed now from google console.
Idea: put a note in the plugin that says: before submitting the sitemap be sure that you exclude it in your cache plugin
