Hotel Posada Canal Grande

Far from the madding crowds of San Jose- and anywhere else, for that matter, Hotel Posada del Canal Grande is just that, a beautiful Victorian hacienda style hotel beside a large lake, up on a lush green hill on the very outskirts of the city. There is not much to do within walking distance, but the views of the Central Valley are breathtaking, and an onsite restaurant and bar/lounge does the trick, even if it's not open terribly late, especially since breakfast is included for guests. There is a beautiful outdoor pool and (indoor) sauna, and free wi-fi internet is available in public areas.
