The construction of this lovely church located in the heart of Monti was commissioned by Pope Gregory XIII in 1850 who called upon architect Giacomo della Porta to design it. Its simple facade is very similar to that of the Church of Gesù. The church was built following a miracle of a blind woman that was healed after finding an inconic image of the Madonna near there. One of the loveliest things about this church are the frescoes of the four Evangelists on the dome painted by Cristoforo Casolani. BUS: 40, 64. METRO: Cavour
