Boulder City was built to house Boulder Dam's workers and their families, and the Boulder City and Hoover Dam Museum is dedicated to the history of the dam and the people who built it. Located in the Boulder Dam Hotel, the small museum houses a collection of hands-on displays, photographs, oral histories and artifacts. Boulder City has stayed a small town since the 1930s, so the history related here isn't too hard to visualize: think about what life must have been like in the days when people were living in tents, without the benefit of air conditioning. If that doesn't make you appreciate modern technology, nothing will.
