After decades playing with the likes of B.B. King, Otis Redding, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and a very young James Brown, seasoned bluesman Mac Arnold at long last returned home to South Carolina. A fixture in the Upstate music scene ever since, Arnold opened Greenville's only venue dedicated to the blues in 2014. Most every Friday and Saturday night, Dr. Mac Arnold's Blues Restaurant hosts blues acts from all across the country. The venue accommodates 200 but feels warm and intimate just the same, and Dr. Arnold is a fixture there when he's not touring with his own band, Plate Full o' Blues. Shows typically run from 8 to 11 PM with a flat $10 cover.
