Simone Biles Seemingly Responds To Olympian MyKayla Skinner’s Comments About Olympic Team

Simone Biles is defending her team. The three-time Olympic gymnast seemingly weighed in on MyKalya Skinner’s recent controversial comments about the 2024 gymnastics Olympic team. Although the 28-year-old didn’t mention the silver Olympic medalist by name, she wrote on Threads, “not everyone needs a mic and a platform.” The post came after MyKayla sparked controversy in a since-deleted YouTube video where she said, “Besides Simone, I feel like the talent and depth just isn’t like what it used to be.” Since her video sparked backlash, MyKayla has apologized and clarified her comments in a video shared to her Instagram Story on July 3. MyKayla traveled with Simone to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo and won silver on the vault. This time Simone is back for her third Olympics with Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles and Hezly Rivera. The team is already highly decorated. Simone has seven Olympics medals. Suni, Jordan and Jade are now two-time Olympians after competing in the 2020 Olympic games where Suni won gold in the women all-around. You can watch Team USA compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics starting July 26th on NBC and Peacock.
